DAY 18: STEPHEN NEW KNOCKOUT KING
7 points make Stephen Tait out third leader in the Knockout Stage League, climbing six places, inspired by a perfect 2-0 for Brazil. Outgoing leader Tony Moore was one of the few not to predict a Brazil win and slips to equal 4th.

FOURTH DAY FOR KOLO
With most getting both winners, and relatively few getting correct scores, there are a lot of similar daily totals. That’s certainly the case at the top of the Overall League where the top seven all scored 4 or 5 points. Chris Bounds moves a point closer to top spot, as does Peter Willingham. Jonathan Liu makes it four days in a row in 1st place.

BELGIUM 3 JAPAN 2
Wow. I wish I’d seen this one. Can’t complain though, having a few quid on 0-0 for the half time score, then a couple on Belgium to win when they were 2-0 down! Only one manager thought Japan would score twice and I’m absolutely gutted for David Rae, so close to getting 2-2. This was the most one-sided game yet in Word Cup Predictor terms, 73 predicting a Belgium win of 76 who predicted. 66 thought the margin would be two or more goals, so 2 points for you lot with 10 scoring 3 points.

BRAZIL 2 MEXICO 0
76 predicted this with 59 going for Brazil. Eight managers predicted the correct score with a further 12 earning 3 points for the correct margin by predicting 3-1. The top three all get 2 points for guessing 2-1, 4th place Peter Willingham is a point closer to top spot. The highest manager to get the right score was Stephen Tait who moves up four to 13th. Stephen goes top of the Knockout Stage League, outgoing leader Tony Moore thought it would be a draw.
